We often get asked about how to care for our delightful tea towels, so I took a minute this week to record some tea towel care instructions for you! (And yes, I recently re-branded my shop to more adequately reflect what I sell, so please ignore any references to “Weathered & Heathered.” It’s still me!)
Tea Towel Care Instructions:
These are the main points that I make in the video:
- Our tea towels are meant to be used! You do not have to keep them as decorative towels only!
- You can wash your tea towels with your regular laundry.
- Avoid fabric softener because it reduces the absorbency of your tea towels.
- You can use bleach and other stain removers sparingly, but as needed.
- Tumble or line dry.
- Fold into thirds
- Iron if you like, but I think they look great without that step!
- Repeat!

My family of six uses our towels everyday and although it’s about time for me to wash a load with bleach, they are holding up beautifully! The designs are well-adhered and the towels are soft and absorbent!
